Clients: Tinker & Trade, The Broken Spine

When Cassie, the owner of Tinker & Trade in Philadelphia, approached me with the question, “Can we have a mural for a new romance bookstore—but make it Philly?” I knew this project was going to be something special. Over two days, I brought this vision to life inside The Broken Spine, a romance bookstore housed within the artisan marketplace. The mural reimagines classic romance book tropes through a distinctly Philly lens, featuring icons like Benjamin Franklin, the Liberty Bell, Jason Kelce, The Flyers’ Gritty, and Saquon Barkley. The design, arranged in a stamp-inspired layout, pays homage to Tinker & Trade’s hand-painted logo mark, tying the entire piece together with a unique, handcrafted feel.

Check out the process of painting this romance book inspired mural over two full days at Tinker & Trade in Philadelphia. Enjoy this mural in person while reading a great book at 915 N 28th St Suite 1C, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
